Having recently completed a degree in sport and exercise science, I can be quite sceptical of a personal trainer's knowledge and ability to provide sustainable workout programs and goals. I briefly worked with personal trainers in a local gym but found them all to be focused purely on the session at hand, and lacked the ability to provide a working "team" relationship that focuses on both short term and long term goals.

At our initial consultation Darren recorded our goals and reasons for achieving them, one of which was to lose weight for my upcoming trip to the US. The 7 weeks training I did with Darren enabled me to do everything whilst on my holiday. I was particularly concerned about the plane trip and also whether I'd be able to fit into some of the rides at Disneyland and Universal Studios, but I was able to do EVERYTHING.

I am really looking forward to working on our next goal, which is to obtain a body weight of less than 100kg. Above all Darren has facilitated a positive mental attitude toward achieving this goal and a positive mental attitude, especially in this field, is an absolutely indespensible pre requisite for success.

Hey Darren,
I just wanted to say thanks!
I bought my wedding dress at Xmas time; it was a size 14 & was already about a size too big at that point in time. It's a strapless dress & for it to feel firm I had to have someone pinch it slightly in the back (about 2cms of fabric).

Well, I had my dress fitting on Saturday & I could fit my whole arm inside the dress alongside my body I had lost so many centimetres. It just fell off me! She had to pinch it about 5cms on each side the whole way from my armpit down to my hips & it was still not firm.
Not to panic though - she can make it fit. I was expecting it to be loose but not THAT loose!! Ha ha!

So, a big THANK YOU to you, Rowena, Byron & Kristy for pushing me to my limits to achieve these results & hopefully look great on my wedding day! It wasn't my intention to join boot camp to be slimmer for the wedding but hey, what a bonus!

I first saw Darren and his Breaking Point van in our local suburb, and after driving past him on numerous occasions, feeling guilty at my lack of fitness and motivation, I thought I’d pull over and check things out. His friendly, welcoming and professional attitude had me intrigued and I drove home to contemplate my current situation. Long story short, I finally dragged my butt off the couch and signed up. A HUGE step for me!
After our initial fitness assessment I realised how unfit I was and how much work I needed to do, but with Darren and Rowena’s help and guidance, things started to take shape (including my gut!!). The motivation I get from working out with a great bunch of like-minded people is unreal. They really pull you along and encourage you and I know I couldn’t do it without them (thanks guys).
Every session was different so boredom never set in and we always managed to have a few laughs along the way. Cardio work is a big thing at Breaking Point (so don’t think you will explode into the Hulk after a few sessions!), which really helped my fitness level as well as shifting the weight.
At the end of the course, you get put through a final assessment and Darren gives you a comparison chart to show how far you have come and I’ll tell you it’s amazing the results you can achieve!

Darren and Rowena are awesome! Whether you want to come along to kick start your fitness routine or you want to go hard and achieve results these guys are there every step of the way to guide, help and motivate you. I am now a yearly member of Breaking Point Fitness Camp and loving every minute of it (even if it is hard work!). I have managed to lose 12 kg to date and can feel and see the difference in my attitude, mental well-being and my waistline!

I started training with Darren in the months leading up to the wedding. My training sessions were fun, yet I worked hard and achieved the results that I wanted. Darren made it enjoyable and I walked away from each session feeling fantastic and knowing that I had given it my all.

We now hold yearly memberships with Breaking Point Fitness and we LOVE IT. Not only has it improved our health and fitness but it is also lots of FUN!
Darren always manages to think of new ways to challenge us and to make each session interesting. He also creates a very friendly and motivating environment.
Prior to starting bootcamp, we rarely made time for regular exercise however now having started bootcamp we now look forward to each session and I don’t think we have ever felt as fit and healthy as we do now.
Darren and Rowena are both fantastic trainers and are always encouraging everyone to achieve their best. We have also met lots of great people whom also contribute to the fun and motivating environment.

I started bootcamp with Breaking Point because I needed a kick start in motivation. It was always my aim to get stronger and fitter…not necessarily thinner. I was amazed at how much improvement I gained in the first 10 weeks in my core strength and lower body strength. I actually did end up losing 7cms from my hips in my first 10 weeks which was a huge surprise because I really didn’t think I had that much to lose! But more importantly I found my love for fitness again!
I had no hesitation in signing up for another round of bootcamps and I am happy to say that I have just completed a triathlon( first time after an 18 month break) and I did an awesome time. I know I could never have achieved that without the structure and guidance of Breaking Point to start the ball rolling. I will be doing one triathlon a month now for the next 5 months and I feel completely ready and confident in doing so.
Every session has been fun…and I mean EVERY session and I have made lots of friends and enjoyed being part of a group of like minded individuals.

I have found Darren and Rowena to be great motivators without being aggressive and pushy and they have taught me that you only get from a session what you put in. This has made me dig a little deeper and find that I can achieve a lot more from myself than I thought I could.
I have lost count how many people have commented how fit and well I am looking now that I have been attending Breaking Point. It is nice to have the old fit me back again.

I initially enrolled with Breaking Point Fitness boot camp to shed a few kilos and for some pre-season training before the Baseball season started.
After being out of Baseball for a few years my fitness, speed and coordination had slipped to a point I was not proud of.
With Darren and Rowena’s help and motivation I was able to shed 4kg and have also increased my strength, speed and overall fitness to levels that far exceeded my expectations.
The level of improvement I was able to achieve in the first 10weeks is a credit to both Darren and Rowena’s expertise and dedication to helping you get the results you want.
They bring a variety to training I have not experienced before and actually make training a lot of fun that keeps you interested.
The people in the group are fantastic and it has almost become a social experience. We all have a lot of fun and the support and encouragement spread by the whole group creates a real team environment. This makes me really look forward to coming to boot camp each week.

I wouldn’t have gotten back into fitness training if it wasn't for the Personal Trainers at Breaking Point Fitness Camp. Darren and Rowena keep me motivated to continue with my workouts and are always happy to answer my questions and to provide suggestions to improve my training. My training sessions are something I look forward to and derive a great sense of achievement from.

I am now on an annual membership and I am now officially addicted! After starting in May 2008 the next 5 months was a ball of fun, energy and definitely motivating sessions to keep me fighting fit. Although I was not overweight, I needed to tone up, increase my cardio, build a bit of muscle and feel energized instead of tired.

Lorraine, after 23 weeks of hard work, is very pleased with her results
I enrolled with Breaking Point Fitness bootcamp because I was wanting to increase my fitness levels and to tone up. I had already been attending the gym at work, but each day that I went, all I did was just go through the motions without putting in any real effort. Darren’s Bootcamp keeps everyone motivated and he ensures that you give it all that you have (which at times is more than you think you have). I am always wanting to improve on my previous best times and repetitions.
After 23 weeks of hard work I am very pleased with the results. I wouldn’t keep coming back if I wasn’t. Some of my work colleagues think that I’m either stupid or a glutton for punishment and they call me a ‘bootcamp junky’. At the age of 52 I felt that I also needed to do something that would keep me feeling energised. Darren’s bootcamp certainly does that.
Apart from all of the hard work that everyone puts in, we also have lots of fun. You get to meet other great people who have many of the same goals in mind and who also offer that much needed encouragement.
Thanks to both Darren and Rowena for providing that motivation and for making each session one that makes you feel like you want to go back for more.
